Levenseat Ltd are located in central Scotland (between Edinburgh and Glasgow) and operate an In-vessel composting (IVC) facility. They process co-mingled food and garden waste through a pre-treatment process which includes Anaergia’s OREX press which separates the high moisture content material to enable it to go for treatment to AD. Following treatment through the press, the fibre fraction is composted in ABP approved Vertical Composting Units (VCU) followed by outdoor windrow composting. They produce a quality compost for use in agriculture. They also operate a separate outdoor green waste composting facility.

The afternoon will start by arriving on site at 2:30pm. There will be a presentation about the process and then a chance to look round the facility. We expect the visit to be finished by 4:30pm.

Dinner – We plan to have a dinner in the Dakota Hotel Eurocentral for anyone who would like to join us.

PPE – You will need to bring your own PPE to the site visit. Hard hat, high vis jacket/vest, safety boots with a mid-sole are required. The site is processing food waste so some odours are expected.

The site is exposed and we advise you to wrap up warmly for the visit. There will be a walk of approx. 500m from the car park/ office area. Transport can be arranged if needed, please let us know in advance.
