The goal of the Renewable Transport Fuels Forum is to promote low carbon renewable transport in the UK. The implementation in full of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED) and the Fuel Quality Directive (FQD) is a key focus.
This is being done through a revised Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation as well as further UK legislation as required in the coming years. The forum provides practical input into the development of low carbon transport policies and legislation, in particular in relation to decarbonising liquid transport fuels.
The forum’s focus encompasses low carbon and renewable transport policy as well as market and trade developments in the UK and the EU. It works closely with Government Ministers and officials in the UK and the European Commission, in particular the Department for Transport (DfT) in Whitehall and DG Energy in the European Commission.
