The REA has responded to the Government White Paper on how the UK’s Internal Market will operate after the Brexit transition period. This will determine how trade is kept as open between England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Overall the REA is supportive of the principle of mutual recognition and non-discrimination underpinning trading arrangements. However, we highlight a number of cases where this will have to be worked through with the relevant industries to understand how the new arrangements will be implemented and what will happen where exiting divergence exists (e.g waste policy or subsidy mechanisms).
