Energy Transition Readiness Index 2021 Report Launch
The REA and Eaton will be launching our 2021 Energy Transition Readiness Index report (ETRI 2021) with remarks delivered by its lead author Robert Hull, who has over 30 years of experience in the power and utility industry in the UK and worldwide, formerly holding senior leadership roles with Ofgem, National Grid, and KPMG, and our CEO, Dr Nina Skorupska CBE, FEI. Information about other expert speakers will follow shortly.
This report assesses the readiness of 12 European electricity markets for the energy transition, from the perspective of investors, looking at flexibility services that support deployment of renewable power and decarbonisation.
In November 2019, REA and Eaton published the first Energy Transition Readiness Index, which assessed progress across 9 Western European countries. The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Ireland were more highly ranked while Germany, Great Britain and France lagged behind.
This ETRI 2021 study updates the ranking of the original nine countries to measure progress over the last two years, and has added Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. The report describes some of the key electricity market characteristics for each country, assessing the current and future need for flexible power resources. Selected case studies have been included to demonstrate emerging best practices relating to the development of flexibility markets and technologies.
The event will be hosted on our LinkedIn page as a livestream. You can either register above (with the same email as your LinkedIn account) and we will ensure you have joined the LinkedIn Event Page before the day, or you can register yourself directly on LinkedIn here.
