The Government has published a Call for Evidence on the VAT relief for energy saving materials (ESM), accessible here. The Call for Evidence sets out the Government’s objectives for ESM relief and seeks views on including additional technologies in the list of ESMs. Battery storage is singled out as a specific technology that the Government has received multiple requests to include.

The REA plans to respond to this Call for Evidence and we would like to organise a small working group to pull together data and answer the questions on battery storage. The first meeting of this working group will take place on Tuesday 4th April, 14:00 – 15:00 (online). Please register for the event through the button on this page.
