Young Professionals Speaker Training – Your Voice
The REA wants to ensure members who have colleagues just starting out in their professional career have the opportunity to learn how to confidently present themselves on panels. We hope this course will enable more young professionals to have the confidence to step up and have their voice heard.
This course is open to anyone who hasn’t had the opportunity — or perhaps the confidence — to speak on a panel or event, and wants to learn more tips and tricks for public speaking. We hope everyone who participates in this training will leave with the tools necessary to present themselves as the most interesting person in the room while also promoting their company and their work. This is also a great opportunity for professionals who have some public speaking experience, but want a refresher on best practices.
Before the training, participants will receive a list of ‘hot topics’ to select from. In the first half of the training, professional, experienced speakers will provide practical tips and tricks for speaking on in-person and online panels. Then, participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate what they’ve learned by speaking for a short-period about their selected topic. All participants will receive constructive feedback at the end of the session.
This is the second session of ‘Your Voice’ and this time we are focusing on young professionals in the waste and resources sector. We are offering this training in a hybrid format to accommodate young professionals living outside of London. There will be in-person training at the REA Office (23 Kingsway, London, WC2B 6UJ) and online training via Microsoft Teams happening simultaneously. We hope to make this training as realistic to our current hybrid professional environment as possible.
