Adding new feedstocks to Fuel Measurement and Sampling Questionnaires
As previously mentioned, last week the REA hosted a conference call with Ofgem and some members regarding the Fuel Measurement and Sampling Questionnaires (FMSQs) across the RHI and RO schemes.
The issue
The procedures for adding new feedstocks to FMSQs under these schemes are currently seen by members as a barrier to taking new feedstocks when these are available, as in some cases amendments to FMSQ take a long time to be approved. The situation is exacerbated by the reduction, in some cases significant, in the volumes of feedstocks that some plants are experiencing as a result of the outbreak: now more than ever it is paramount that these plants are able to take alternative, suitable feedstocks at the time these are available to them.
