Matt Western MP – Automotive Champion and Chair of the EV APPG:
“As we launch this crucial report on the barriers to EV adoption and charging infrastructure rollout, it is clear that significant progress has been made in the transition to zero emissions. However, there is still much work to be done.
The recommendations outlined in this report provide a comprehensive roadmap for accelerating the transition to electric vehicles. Built on insights from stakeholders from across the automotive industry, this report addresses key issues including consumer incentives, accessible charging infrastructure, and support for the second-hand EV market.
Considering the rapid consultation on the Zero Emissions Vehicles (ZEV) mandate and in advance of the Industrial Strategy, due for publication this Spring, I strongly recommend that the Government consider the recommendations laid out in this report to ensure that the UK remains at the forefront of the global shift towards sustainable transport.
It is imperative that we act swiftly and decisively to meet our net zero targets and create a cleaner, greener future for all.
