EA guidance on waste storage during Covid-19

You must usually comply with the waste storage limits in your environmental permit. However, the EA have published a regulatory position statement (RPS) that allows you to temporarily store more waste than your permit allows if you cannot remove waste from your site because of COVID-19 restrictions. It only applies if you can demonstrate the need to store more waste as a result of Covid-19 restrictions and only applies to wastes already on your permit.

If you follow the conditions in this COVID-19 RPS you can exceed waste storage limits without applying for a permit variation. Waste can be stored for up to 3 months unless agreed with the EA.
