In 2018 the EV Energy Taskforce (EVET) was commissioned by Government to make proposals to ensure the energy system is ready for widespread electric vehicle uptake. The Taskforce convened over 350 stakeholders over five work topics.

On the 14th January 2020, the Taskforce released its final report with 21 proposals for Government.

The REA was involved with work packages 1, 2, and 3 of the EVET.
