The British Society of Soil Science (BSSS) have published a guidance note for land managers on soil carbon – what are carbon stocks and how can they be measured? The guidance is part of the Land Use for Net Zero series which aims to aid understanding of where efforts should be focussed, and the trade-offs involved. The guidance focuses on key considerations regarding the monitoring, reporting and verification of soil carbon stocks for carbon finance schemes.
