Government has published their responses to the Simpler Recycling consultations today (9th May 2024). This provides some further details on what the requirements will be. The consultations were towards the end of 2023, and details can be seen here. You can read the Government press release here. 

Defra confirmed they intend to introduce regulations as part of the new Simpler Recycling legislation before the summer recess. Subject to the parliamentary process, they will then publish the final statutory guidance. Defra also confirmed further work is underway to develop public-facing communications across collection and packaging reforms which will precede the introduction of the Simpler Recycling obligations.
