WRAP have published the results of their 2021 survey of Food Waste Trends in the UK – read here.
The latest survey highlights what the “return to normality” after the impact of the Covid pandemic has meant for food waste. Broadly, this has been a decrease in the food management behaviours which had increased during lockdowns, and an increase in the number of meals out and takeaways. A significant reason for this is the return of time pressures to UK citizens, effecting 44% of UK citizens on a day to day basis. Levels of food waste have returned to pre-pandemic levels.
